Bayern Munich and Thomas Tuchel Part Ways
Head coach to leave at the end of the season
Tuchel and the club mutually agreed to end their working relationship.
FC Bayern Munich and head coach Thomas Tuchel have jointly decided to end their working relationship, which was originally set to run until 30 June 2023. The club confirmed the news on Wednesday.
Tuchel, 50, replaced Julian Nagelsmann at the German champions in January 2023. He has led the team to victory in the Bundesliga and the DFB-Pokal, but they were eliminated from the Champions League in the semi-finals by Real Madrid.
In a statement, Tuchel said: "It is with a heavy heart that I have decided to leave Bayern Munich at the end of the season. I have had an incredible journey here, and I am grateful for the opportunity to have worked with such a talented group of players and staff.
"However, I believe that it is time for a new challenge, and I am excited about what the future holds." No word yet on who might replace Tuchel at Bayern Munich.
